Curriculum vitae
I was born and grew up in Bremen. In 1985 I moved to Hamburg in order to study geography and geology. I completed by phd in the field of marine Biogeochemistry in 1995. Since 2000 I am working at the Center for Tropical Marine Ecology in Bremen (ZMT).
At the University of Hamburg my research activities were concentrated more on the open ocean and I spend more than 1,5 years on German, Indian and Indonesian research vessels. Since I am at the ZMT land based activities became the focus of my research activities.
