The biogeochemical, biological and chemical analyses of the ZMT are carried out at its laboratories, which are well-equipped and run by highly qualified technical personnel. The personnel also participate in field sampling campaigns and research expeditions, and are involved in the "on-the-job" training of students, technicians and young scientists from partner countries. The ZMT also assists in establishing analytical methods at partner institutions in tropical countries.
